Kieran's Roland TD-25k kit! (25/5/15)
So I believe I was the first person to walk away with the new TD-25k, as soon as I had the email that one was in stock I was straight to the shop. I wanted to get back into drumming after 5 years of not being able to play, this is my first electronic kit, and after speaking to the guys in the store I decided to purchase the new TD-25k.

I’ve had the kit for 4 days now, and I must say, it has lived up to expectations. It was easy to build, took less than an hour and it was all ready to play once connected.

The kit has been simplified from the previous kits. The kits have been simplified, No more 50 kits where only 10 were ever used. However for the people who do need these they can easily edit a kit to their requirements. The process of editing kits is so simple; I have not had to look at the manual yet. You can mimic the sounds of kits by just turning a few nobs.

Everything on the kit just works so perfectly, responds well, sounds great and I’ve had no issues getting used to the electronic kit, the heads feel a little bit tighter than an acoustic, but personally this is an advantage.

I still have a lot of features to try out on this kit. For now I’m just enjoying being sat in the throne once again!

If I was going to give any negatives I would say the only thing is when your spending over £1000 on an electric kit you’d think Roland would throw in the MIDI cable to connect up to the computer.

To round up I personally think spending the extra money for a Roland kit is worth while, you get what you pay for, a strong, easy to play and a professional kit.
